Distractions

I throw myself down in my chamber, and I call in and invite God and his angels thither, and when they are there, I neglect God and his angels, for the noise of a fly, for the rattling of a coach, for the whining of a door.

  1. The greatest offender must be the phone! What a tragedy of misplaced priority. We often mind the unimportant at the expense of God’s presence. Lord, help us to find true peace in your presence.

  2. One of Greatest distractions from focusing soley on God when we are in His presence is thinking of all that we need and want from God. Most times when we pray, we forget that God wants all of our attention( not a divided one) we allow the things we need to take the focus. We come into His presence not for the sole aim of being in His presence but for the things we need from Him.We allow our wants and needs to be the priority and not God. We forget that the major purpose of us being in His presence is to worship Him with our whole heart. Our problems and wants and needs are only secondary. We forget that the one whom we worship is a problem solver. That if we could only focus on Him and give Him all the paise and attention due Him, He would solve our problems. God wants all of us when we are in His presence.
God is seeking for people who would desire the GIVER and not the GIFT. God help us to know that “IT IS ALL ABOUT YOU”.
